When Glenn was arrested in April of 1987 after his "Declaration of War" and his "revolutionary underground" phase--which consisted of stumbling around the countryside hitting bars at night getting drunk and screaming "I'm Glenn Miller and guns, Gods and guts made this country" and getting thrown out by bouncers--he was in a trailer near Springfield, Missouri along with two other men, Doug Sheets and Robert Eugene "Jack" Jackson. These men were charged with all kinds of gun possession charges and sent to Federal prison, as part of Miller's informer deal. Miller walked right into the Witness Protection Program. There are a number of questions about exactly how that arrest came about, and indeed about that whole "Declaration of War" interlude, but we'll stick to the main facts. At some point later on, I can't remember when, Sheets and Jackson were also charged with multiple homicides in relation to an attack on a homosexual book and porno store in Cleveland County, North Carolina in January of...'86, if memory serves. Four faggots were laid out on the floor and shot execution-style. Again if memory serves, there was no robbery, although I may be wrong about that. The bookstore was reputed to have Mob connections and be a center for homosexual prostitution and blackmail; prominent North Carolinians would come in and get their dick sucked by a male whore and be photographed in the process, and the photos would then be used for blackmail purposes by various lowlifes and the FBI and other Federal law enforcement. Remember, this was in the time of Ron and Ed's House of Sleaze and Ed Meese was Attorney General, and all kinds of weird crap was going on. The alternate theory of the crimes developed by the defense, but never fully presented at the trial, was that the petty criminals at the store tried blackmailing the wrong people and the killings were a Federally-sanctioned "termination with extreme prejudice." Sheets and Jackson were just the fall guys: convenient "White supremacists" who had no alibis for the time period and were being used to clean up the case and close it. The real killers in this alternate theory were allegedly...well, it is fifteen year-old speculation and I admit, the whole thing is probably way beyond proof now, one way or the other. The case against Sheets and Jackson was very, very weak. There was no physical evidence of any kind connecting either Doug or Jack to the bookstore slayings, so the prosecutors separated the trials and tried Doug Sheets first, when it turned out that Jack Jackson did in fact have a fairly convincing alibi, witnesses who put him back home in Oklahoma that night. There seems little doubt that Sheets and Jackson were both in fact innocent. So, who do they come up with in court against Doug? Two snitches. One a NIGGER jailhouse snitch, and the other one FRAZIER GLENN MILLER, who emerged from the Witness Protection Program long enough to get up on the witness stand and try and send his former friend to the gas chamber. Before Glenn starts yapping about how no one was ever sent to prison on his word, yes, Doug Sheets was acquitted. But not for want of Miller's trying. He was acquitted largely because (A) Southern juries hate faggots, the local people hated that porno store, and thought whoever did it did a good job; and (B) Glenn Miller was such a shady, shifty, palpable liar that they didn't believe a damned word he said. The charges against Jackson were eventually dropped. But where it gets interesting is in (A) Miller's cross-examination and (B) the pretrial discovery material relating to the circumstances of Miller's arrest in Missouri and details of the subsequent deal. The discovery is probably sealed in some lawyer's office and beyond the reach of anyone in the Movement, but if someone wants to take the time to go to the courthouse in Shelby, North Carolina and track down a transcript of the Doug Sheets trial and the original newspaper coverage, it should make very interesting reading. You might also try researching the files of the Charlotte Observer. The trial date was April-May of 1989, maybe on into June as well, I can't recall exactly. If anyone ELSE wants to do it, that is. I would suggest that we not believe anything Miller presents as an alleged "transcript"; he has a vested interest in certain details not coming out. Kirk Lyons was second chair at the defense table and Harold Covington assisted Lyons and the defense lawyer in various ways, and I am sure now that I think about it that Harold mentioned to me long ago that some of the material in the defense discovery file on Miller was really raunchy and eye-popping.
