reporting that the remains of a family of four killed by Turkish
soldiers during Turkey's invasion of the island in 1974 have been
identified. The father, mother and their two handicapped children,
from the occupied village of Lapithos, were buried under a lemon tree
in the grounds of the home and their remains discovered and handed over
to occupation authorities in 2002 by the Turkish settlers occupying
the property as they were building an extension to the house:

Poles and Germans Honor Mass Grave
MALBORK, Poland -- Germans and Poles are laying ghosts of World War
II to rest this week -- more than 2,000 of them.
At a ceremony Friday, they will rebury the bones that were
discovered last fall in a mass grave at the foot of this northern
Polish city's medieval castle, setting aside the grievances that
linger from the war and often bedevil relations between the two
countries.
But the uncertainties about who the dead were and who killed them
may never be resolved. All that authorities can say with some
assuredness is that they were probably German civilians who died
in the ferocious final months of the war, in a city with a shared
Polish-German past that dates back more than 700 years.
Poland and Germany are at peace today -- fellow democracies in the
27-nation European Union. But the war still shadows the
relationship. They argue, often bitterly, over war damages, past
suffering, and the rights of an estimated 3 million ethnic Germans
expelled as Poland headed into a future as a Soviet communist
satellite.
Yet the grisly find by red-brick Malbork Castle seems to have
drawn hearts and minds together. Polish authorities have handled
the discovery with sensitivity, neither side has voiced
recriminations, and discussions on where to rebury them have
reached a cordial, mutually agreed conclusion.

New poll:
Changing health care attitudes!
The raucous protests at congressional town hall
meetings have succeeded in fueling opposition to proposed health
care bills among some Americans, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds --
particularly the independents who tend to be at the center of
political debates.
In a survey of 1,000 adults taken Tuesday, 34% say the sometimes
heated protests at sessions held by members of Congress have made
them more sympathetic to the protesters' views; 21% say they are
less sympathetic.
Independents by 2-1, 35%-16%, say they are more sympathetic to the
protesters now.
The findings are bad news for President Obama and Democratic
congressional leaders, who have scrambled to respond to town halls
marked by aggressive questions and noisy demonstrations by those
opposed to plans to overhaul the health care system.

In 2004, Dan Logan, Scottsdale's former Director of its Office of
Diversity and Dialogue, was injured when a package exploded as he
opened it. Twin brothers Daniel and Dennis Mahon were arrested in
Illinois and charged in the incident.
An Illinois judge had found that Daniel Mahon, who faces just one
conspiracy charge, did not pose a threat to the community. Mahon,
59, was granted a $50,000 bond. Arizona U.S. District Judge David
Campbell has now reversed the decision of the Illinois judge!
During his oral argument before the judge requesting that the bond
offer be rescinded, assistant U.S. Attorney John Boyle spoke of
inflammatory statements made while being wiretapped.
Daniel Mahon's court-appointed attorney Barbara Hull had insisted
in court that Daniel is being accused of misdeeds actually alleged
of his brother Dennis.
Rev. Oscar Tillman, President of the local NAACP, and Bill Straus,
regional director of the Arizona Anti-Defamation League, were each
present to influence the proceedings.
"It's pretty clear they are white," stated Dan Logan (left) at one point.

James von Brunn hearing
delayed until September
Federal public defender A.J. Kramer says the arraignment for his
client, 89-year-old James von Brunn, is set for Sept. 2 in
Washington DC U.S. District Court.
Kramer says a scheduled hearing was canceled due to health
concerns. On July 29th von Brunn was indicted on seven counts,
including first-degree murder, killing in a federal building and
bias-motivated crime. Four of the charges make him eligible for
the death penalty.

Update:
Edgar Ray was in good spirits this morning. An inmate gave him
some cream for his skin cancer, that is helping. His left ankle &
foot is still swollen.
At 85, and where he's at, I guess he's doing good.
Mrs. Killen fell in her garden yesterday and lay on the ground for
quite awhile before she could get up. She says she's going to have
knee surgery.

Chino Race Riots Predicted!
Corrections experts warned nearly two years ago that overcrowding
at the California Institute for Men at Chino created "a serious
disturbance waiting to happen," foreshadowing the violence that
burned a dormitory and injured 175 prisoners over the weekend.
A 2005 U.S. Supreme Court decision rejected California's practice
of segregating the reception centers by race as a means of
combating violence among gangs like the Aryan Brotherhood, the
Mexican Mafia and the Black Guerrilla Family.
The reception centers are supposed to house inmates for their
first 60 days but are often where a prisoner serves his entire
sentence for lack of cell space.

firefighters, torched cars and one person fired a handgun during a
rampage early Monday prompted by the death of a teen pizza
deliverer fleeing police.

Turner denied bail,
confirmed FBI Informant!
A blogger who once kept tabs on extremist groups as a paid
informant for the FBI was ordered held without bail Monday while
awaiting trial on charges that he threatened the lives of three
federal judges.
At the hearing, prosecutors acknowledged that for several years
Turner was a paid FBI informant, saying in a letter to his lawyers
he had supplied information on "right-wing white nationalist and
white supremacist groups."
Turner e-mailed agents in November 2007 with word that Ku Klux
Klan members were planning an arson at Middle Tennessee State
University because a student there had been "willfully
antagonizing folks in the pro-white movement."
Prosecutors said the relationship between Turner and the FBI had
ended some time ago. But as recently as last November, Turner told
federal marshals about a man who spoke of wanting to "lob mortars"
into the rally held on election night in Chicago's downtown Grant

appeal of the Munich state court ruling made in February. It
upheld the conviction and six-year sentence
Mahler, a founder of the Red Army Faction in 1970, was convicted

Cornelius P. Rhoads was an American doctor and pathologist that
became infamous for performing several objectionable experiments
with human beings.

died. When asked about the reasons for the study, Rhoads replied:
