Freedom of Information Act filings reveal details of a secret battle that raged between
founders of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and top US law
enforcement officials. The new book "America's Defense Line: The Justice Department's
Battle to Register the Israel Lobby as Agents of a Foreign Government" reproduces and
analyzes these files and their troubling implications for rule of law in the United
States. "America's Defense Line" also reveals stunning details of a preferential deal

In 2005, Colonel Lawrence Franklin was indicted alongside two executives of AIPAC for
allegedly violating the 1917 Espionage Act. Franklin later pled guilty to passing AIPAC a
classified presidential directive and other secrets concerning America's Iran policy.
Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman of AIPAC allegedly forwarded the highly sensitive
information to Israeli government officials and select members of Washington's media
establishment. This covert leaking appears to be one of many AIPAC tactics designed to
encourage tougher U.S. policies toward Iran, from financial boycotts to naval blockades
and possibly even military strikes.

Didn't flood here, but 1 mile away got hit hard -- what you see on TV. Back yard turned
into a pond, for I have a 1/4 acre lot in the city. I used my ejector pump to pump out the
yard so I wouldn't get seepage in the basement. Also bought a 6500 watt generator 10 years
ago at a yard sale in case of an ice storm during the winter. Wired the panel so the whole
house is powered up. Can't run the AC though.

Goldman Sachs net plunges 70 percent
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N) said third-quarter earnings plunged 70
percent as one of the market's worst slumps ever sapped revenue in almost every business
while fueling investment and credit losses. The largest U.S. investment bank reported net
income of $845 million, or $1.81 a share, for the quarter ended August 29, down from $2.85
billion, or $6.13 a share, a year earlier. Net revenue fell by half to $6.04 billion from
$12.3 billion.

the US, has filed for bankruptcy. Merrill Lynch, the second largest brokerage firm on the
verge of collapse, was acquired by Bank of America to avoid what happened to Lehman
Brothers. Now AIG, the largest insurer in the world, is on the brink. They are seeking
emergency funding from the government in the form of 40 billion dollars or else they will
fold. All of this sent the markets crumbling today and hopefully even more this week. Not
only that, but take into consideration that two of the biggest mortgage lenders in the
world Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had to be rescued by the government and you have a recipe
for disaster which is all very good news. This could be the tsunami that awaits us and
hopefully AWAKENS US. I just pray that this signals the collapse that we all want.

August foreclosures hit another record high
There were 304,000 homes in some stage of default last month, and 91,000 families lost
their homes.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Foreclosures hit another record high in August: 304,000 homes were
in default and 91,000 families lost their houses. More than 770,000 homes have been
repossessed by lenders since August 2007, when the credit crunch took hold.
Foreclosure filings of all kinds, including notices of defaults, notices of auctions and
bank repossessions, grew 12% in August over July, and 27% compared with August 2007.
Fannie Mae chief economist Doug Duncan isn't surprised by the swelling numbers. "It's been
my view for a long time that foreclosures won't peak until the last three months of 2008,"
he said. And now that the nation [is] in a recessionary economy, with job losses exceeding
400,000 a month, Duncan speculates that the foreclosure crisis may be drawn out even longer.
"We've been saying that the foreclosure trend has not yet peaked," said Doug Robinson, a
spokesman for the foreclosure prevention organization NeighborWorks America. "Before it
was a subprime problem," he said. "Now, it's everybody's problem."

I thought was extremely important and needs to really be discussed much more. He talked
about forgetting about taking credit for any actions that you take as an Insurgent. Also
that you don't want any credit for what you do and can't ever have any. I really think

People, me included, seem to have a natural tendency to want to be acknowledged for things
they have accomplished. We want credit for what we have done, we want to be recognized by
our peers and praised. People seem to have this natural inclination to talk about what
they have done. The dangers involved with that are self evident. Countless people sit in
jail and have even been executed over the years simply because they talked to somebody
about what they had done. It's really something we need to think about and discuss and
realize that it takes discipline on our part. Insurgent operations CAN'T be talked about
to ANYONE and that includes family and friends. We have to accept that we can never get
credit or acknowledgment for what we may have done, we will for at least the foreseeable
future have to remain anonymous.
