Review: 'Talk Radio'
A self-destructive soul

Liev Schreiber plays the self-destructive, charismatic, late-night talk radio show host Barry Champlain, in Eric Bogosian's Talk Radio. (Joan Marcus)"I guess we're stuck with each other," controversial late-night radio talk show host Barry Champlain (Liev Schreiber) says at one point, describing the symbiotic love-hate relationship he and his listeners share in this riveting Broadway revival of Eric Bogosian's 1987 play Talk Radio. A kind of combination Bill O'Reilly and Howard Stern, Champlain discusses the various issues of the day, fielding questions and comments from listeners ranging from Neo-Nazi racists to lonely everyday people with nothing else to do.
Hugely popular, Champlain has a violent temper and is on the edge of a burnout, constantly alienating everyone close to him, including his station manager/sometimes girlfriend (Stephanie March), longtime studio engineer (Michael Laurence), and station owner (Peter Hermann). Champlain's incessant belief (or ego) which allows him to claim that he knows the callers better than anyone else continuously leads him to take unnecessary chances, creating situations which may lead to disaster.
However, Champlain needs these callers just as much as they need him. More than a job, being on the air is probably the only time he truly feels alive. This feeding off each other is a theme Bogosian (who played the role originally) comes back to time and again, and it's fascinating to watch. Possibly the most sobering moment in the play is when Champlain lambastes his listeners about this relationship, yet it all goes over their heads, so eager are they to get their few seconds in the spotlight.
Schreiber is very good in the role, effectively merging with the character and becoming a walking mass of anger and self-destruction. Strong direction by Robert Falls, as well as Mark Wendland's brilliant set that makes us feel we're in the place and time the story is set (a radio station, circa 1987), helps immeasurably. Because of the way the show is structured, the audience, like the listeners, knows almost nothing about Champlain or what makes him tick.
It's up to the recollection of his co-workers to fill in the blanks, all of which fit nicely into the story. Also good are the voices of the various callers, most of which are stereotypical at points, but come across as quite realistic in the context of the play. High marks go to March and Sebastian Stan, the latter as a drugged-out caller who winds up invited on the show.
Also in the cast are Adam Sietz, Cornell Womack, Kit Williamson, Marc Thompson, Christy Pusz, Barbara Rosenblat, and Christine Pedi.

Hello Mr. Tom Metzger, i emailed you about 14 days ago asking if you could answer a few questions for me to help me out with a project i was working on for school. These are the questions, if you could reply back in an email with your answers that would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much.
1. What is the primary goal/objective of W.A.R.? What is it you hope to accomplish? Could you explain it for someone who has never heard of it?
A.
WAR has changed its name to The Insurgent. Our concern is with the advancement
of White traditional European Race people. These numbers have always been a
world minority but now even our so-called leadership has sold out to pure
materialism ie corporate power. In a sense we are in a White civil war. The non
white races do impact our best interests but they are a by product of White
leadership vacuums. Our premise is that the idea of equality is an evil
concept. It is accepted by the weak and promoted by the strong even though its
a bogus concept. The myth of religions also retard our racial advancement. The
entire structure of the present system will eventually lead to racial, and
environmental collapse. Other issues are discussed on my website under
positions.
2. You have been involved with so many things in the past (ran for
congress, been a KKK leader), is there anything else that you still wish to
accomplish in the remainder of your lifetime?
A.
I have concentrated on creating new young faces for many years. Many of these
associates have grown into adults with families and professions. They have been
encouraged to covertly and quietly infiltrate all areas of society and
business. This was begun in the 80's as White Skin Heads and others
accepted my logic.
Today only a surface remnant of the old right wing racists exist. They operate
small system infiltrated groups and make a lot of noise which helps keep
the system agents chasing there tails. I am the JOHNNY APPLESEED OF WHITE
RACIST SEPARATIST thought.
3. Would you consider the W.A.R. organization more associated with hate, or logic and reasoning?
A.
The Insurgent does not concern itself with those labels. But I do prefer pure
logic and a correct premise. No Equality among races or among individuals
within a Race. No equality before the law. Justice is a commodity to be
purchased by the rich. I do not accept the concept of RIGHTS. Rights give
people the false idea that they cannot take away. The state can take anything
you have including your life, which it often does. You only have privileges
that can be given or taken away by the state.
4. Regarding your activities with the KKK and W.A.R., do you regret
anything you have done in the past?
A.
No I do not since I was operating with the information I had at the time.
Something's I would have changed. I would not have based my start in the right
wing but would have moved quickly to the left. They still call me a right
winger when most of my issues are quite a ways to the left. Anti transnational
corporations,anti transnational wars for big business, anti interfering with
foreign nations, death penalty for major polluters, death penalty for CEO
criminals. I opposed the Viet Nam war and refused to pay income tax. I opposed
intervention in South and central American countries. I opposed the first Iraq
and the present war. I oppose arming any third world country. I support severe
cutbacks in U.S. arms manufacturing such as cluster bombs.
5. Is the “Lone Wolf” concept something that is essential to the
W.A.R. organization?
A.
Yes the LONE WOLF policy is essential to any insurgency. The evolution from
RESISTANCE to INSURGENCE was a major move toward the growing internal chaos
that is coming to North America. All membership groups will be quickly
suppressed sooner or later.
6. In the next 10 years do you see the W.A.R. organization being more
successful? Or being less effective?
A.
I would say the Insurgency could very likely evolve from an educational tool to
a more militant struggle in ten years. It may be forced upon us as free thought
and expression continue to disintegrate.
7. Do you believe it is possible for the members of W.A.R. to happily
co-exist with the Mestizo-American, African-American, and Asian-American
citizens in our country?
A.
In the long run no. In the short run due to very minority oriented laws we must
bide our time. Proximity is the problem. If you buy into RACES are Equal then
you see only people like myself as a stumbling block to a brave new world. That
makes a huge number of Whites more our enemy that other races.
We have no quarrel with the nations of the non white world. If in power we
would extend the greatest gift to them and leave them develop themselves
without interference.
The one issue that looms like the elephant in the parlor is world population.
The artificial support of overpopulation by food shipments and medicine must
stop. If we do not bring it in line Nature will. Evolution is being stymied and
must be put back on track. I support peak oil and believe an oil crash would be
good for the long run but a shocker for the short run.
I understand the non-whites in this country simply operate for their best
interests but their best interests collide with ours.
8. Could you name one thing (just one thing) that the government could do
to make your life easier?
A. Disband!

It has been said by many sources that by the year 2050, the majority
(more than 50%) of the population in the United States will consist of
minorities. (NON WHITES) How exactly do you feel about that statement?
A.
I think at the present rate it would be sooner than that. But that's based on
the premise that conditions stay the same. I don't have a crystal ball but I
believe Nature itself is on our side or we are on its side. That picture of
2050 doesn't address the economy and natural resources. We are losing water resources
very quickly,
Industry is primarily gone, oil consumption is at an insane level, all the
newcomers are driving more cars, the fertility of the ground is going, the
public health is terrible and getting worse, epidemics are increasing, global
warming may be a factor etc.
By 2050 most Whites who know the score may be immigrating out.
My best guess is eastern Europe and Russia due to their great loss of
population. Those areas still have great resources and are mostly White.
Of course that is for the younger generations to decide.

Some Berkeley residents found a poster on their doorsteps this week from a
white supremacist group calling for skinhead "death squads" to take
up arms in an "Aryan people's insurgency."
The materials also included a flyer saying, "Avenge the Zebra
Murders," a reference to the 1973-1974 Bay Area killing spree of 14 white
victims by what prosecutors described as a black racist cult. The material was
published by a group in Oroville (Butte County) linked to former KKK leader Tom
Metzger, said Anti-Defamation League regional director Jonathan Bernstein.
The language is too vague to fall under Berkeley's hate crime law, said police
spokesman Ed Galvan. Greg Withrow, leader of the group promoting the pamphlets,
said Berkeley was targeted because "people there enjoy flying their little
Communist flags."

the counter with the wrong registration for a vehicle, talking loudly on her
cell phone about how she was using the guys she was dating & telling the
man she was on the phone with (I can only imagine was her pimp) that it was the

her son peanut. As if that wasn't enough to make me sick, the white woman behind

Dear TT,,, you know as things become more clear to me as the years go on, I am in my 30's now, I think the ultimate downfall of the race is money. It would make a lot more sense to me that a guy does whatever it takes to make his first few million bucks as he destroys Aryans,, I don't agree with that, but at least I could understand it. I see these old retired guys all the time and my grandfather was the same way,,, they retire from a city job or military or whatever, and most of the time their house is paid off , they have plenty of savings, and SSI,, medicare ect coming in and instead of taking it easy and spending some of their money and just getting loose, they get some goddamn real estate job trying to get more rich or invest all their money in some stock market bullshit, or worse yet put all their money into some feeble business venture. My grandfather had this get more money deal all the way to his grave. When he died, he had more than half a million dollars in the bank,, all of which went to all the kids, half of them not worth a goddamn. Is that what he slaved 70 years for? did he think that he would take all that money with him?
I really don't understand this whole money drive thing from these CEO's and shareholders,,, what the hell can you do with 100 million that you cant do with 5 million? I actually think its a sickness,, sorta like a drug addiction.. I really believe that. I think when most people get a taste of a little money, it really screws them up. forest for the trees. What's an "Israeli", to begin

Every time you use the term "Israeli", you are accepting

beekeepers have been stung in recent months by the mysterious disappearance of
millions of bees threatening honey supplies as well as crops which depend on
the insects for pollination.
Bee numbers on parts of the east coast and in Texas have fallen by more than 70
percent, while California has seen colonies drop by 30 to 60 percent.
According to estimates from the US Department of Agriculture, bees are
vanishing across a total of 22 states, and for the time being no one really
knows why.
"Approximately 40 percent of my 2,000 colonies are currently dead and this
is the greatest winter colony mortality I have ever experienced in my 30 years
of beekeeping," apiarist Gene Brandi, from the California State Beekeepers
Association, told Congress recently.
It is normal for hives to see populations fall by some 20 percent during the
winter, but the sharp loss of bees is causing concern, especially as domestic
US bee colonies have been steadily decreasing since 1980.
There are some 2.4 million professional hives in the country, according to the
Agriculture Department, 25 percent fewer than at the start of the 1980's.
And the number of beekeepers has halved.
The situation is so bad, that beekeepers are now calling for some kind of
government intervention, warning the flight of the bees could be catastrophic
for crop growers.

Only a few years ago, oil from palm trees was viewed as an ideal biofuel: a cheap, renewable alternative to petroleum that would fight global warming. Energy companies began converting generators and production soared.
Now, it's increasingly seen as an example of how well-meaning efforts to limit climate-changing carbon emissions may backfire.
Marcel Silvius, a climate expert at Wetlands International in the Netherlands, led a team that compared the benefits of palm oil to the ecological harm from destroying virgin Asian rain forests to develop lucrative new plantations.
His conclusion: "As a biofuel, it's a failure."
Scientists and policymakers from more than 100 countries are meeting in Brussels, Belgium, starting Monday to report on the impact of global warming, including storms, flooding and the extinction of plants and animals.
Then in May, the group intends to issue recommendations on how best to fight it, through new technologies and possible use of alternatives. The lessons of palm oil are sure to figure into their discussion.
Long a primary ingredient in food and cosmetics, palm oil derivatives caught on about five years ago as a source of renewable energy, spurred by subsidies in many European Union countries. Imports have risen 65 percent since 2002.
Palm oil is attractive because it is relatively abundant, cheap at about $550 per ton, and requires few or no modifications to existing power stations.
Unlike carbon-rich fossil fuels, palm oil is considered carbon-neutral, meaning the carbon emitted from burning it is the same as what is absorbed during growth.
But the result of intensified farming has been to unleash far more greenhouse gases than will be saved at power stations.
The report issued late last year by Wetlands International, Delft Hydraulics and the Alterra Research Center of Wageningen University in Holland studied the carbon released from peat swamps in Indonesia and Malaysia that had been drained and burned to plant palm oil trees. About 85 percent of the world's palm oil comes from the two countries, and about one-quarter of Indonesia's plantations are on drained peat bogs, the report said.
The four-year study found that 600 million tons of carbon dioxide seep into the air each year from the drained swamps. Another 1.4 billion tons go up in smoke from fires lit to clear rain forest for plantations — smoke that often shrouds Singapore and Malaysia in an impenetrable haze for weeks at a time.
Together, those 2 billion tons of CO2 account for 8 percent of the world's fossil fuel emissions, the report said.
Friends of the Earth, another environmental group, called the report "astonishing," and said it shows that harvesting palm oil for fuel is counterproductive. "It undermines the whole project," said a climate specialist for the group, Anne van Schaik.
The study was not independently verified by the U.N. Climate Change Secretariat in Bonn, Germany, or by the World Resources Institute in Washington, D.C., the two leading monitoring groups. But experts said the research appeared credible. It is due to be published for peer review later this year.
Deforestation is the No. 2 cause of greenhouse gas emissions after the burning of fossil fuels, said Jeffrey Dukes, a biologist at the University of Massachusetts who was not part of the research. He said clearing peat swamps for plantations is "a double whammy."
It not only releases carbon trapped over many millennia, but destroys the most efficient ecosystem on the planet for sucking carbon from the atmosphere, Dukes said.
Expanding production of palm oil is "a terrible decision. Whether or not it's consciously made, it's society going in reverse," he said.
Major power companies are divided on whether to continue or pursue palm oil generation.
Leon Flexman, of RWE npower, Britain's largest electricity supplier, said his company decided against palm oil after a year of study because it could not verify its supplies would be free of the taint of destroyed rain forest or peat bogs, he said.
The Dutch power company Essent announced in December it had stopped burning until it can trace and verify the sources.
Biox, a Dutch startup, said it plans careful scrutiny of palm oil sources but will proceed with construction of three 50 megawatt power stations that burn palm oil byproducts exclusively. That's enough electricity to light all the homes in Amsterdam.
"From the start, we knew we can't stay in business if we can't prove that production is sustainable," said Biox executive Arjen Brinkmann. "Until this report came out, peat lands was not an issue because we hadn't heard of it. Nobody had heard," he said, adding that it will now be a factor in the company's sustainability criteria.
So
far, the reservations about palm oil do not seem to have affected the market.
Production rose 6.6 percent last year and will increase another 5.5 percent
this year to 37 million tons, according to Fortis Bank. Prices have risen 35
percent in the last year and are still rising, it said.

TT. Regarding the Christian guy whose letter you read yesterday. I
think people like Pastor Wickstrom are some of the finest people we have in our
struggle. They are moral and tough as nails. I would say Pastor
Wickstrom does not have a problem with anything you say against Christianity
because he knows you are correct in many of your ascertations. Even
though you don't see eye to eye on the religious perspective you are both
working towards a common goal. You can criticize Christianity but people
like Wickstrom don't take it personally because you both speak to different
circles of people.
The only problem I see regarding the Christian Identity movement is their
willingness to work with the Muslims. Other than that, they are great
allies in the struggle. Some people really need the Christian faith in
their lives and that's OK by me as long as it's Christian Identity. Any
other form of Christianity which lacks a white racialist foundation, in my
opinion, should be avoided like the plague and you are correct to attack
it.
You shouldn't need a church to pray or a pastor to teach you right and
wrong. I think Christian charity could be a beautiful thing if we had
some sort of white homogenous enclave or something but it is just plain ugly
when applied universally which Christians are 9 times out of 10 likely to do
with it. The struggle needs all the sobriety it can muster and too many
concepts in Christianity are used to destroy racial solidarity. I
personally feel Christianity could be used as a personal philosophy but as a
religion it can easily be subverted, not even just from without but from
within. What I mean is that people will rationalize all sorts of
horrendous deeds in the name of religion. It can and has been infiltrated
by Zionism and this is a good example of why your cell-structure lone wolf
tactics are so vital.
One must achieve an individual sense of empowerment and not rely on a
collective of any sort. If drawing from Christian values helps you

feel that Jesus and racism don't really go hand in hand which is why using

Does Mr. Chuck Graham truly believe in "diversity"? Race is a biological reality. The races are different and that's the core meaning of diversity, is it not? Anthropologist Professor George Gill states that "racial taxonomy that physical anthropologists have traditionally established—major races: black, white, etc.— one can classify human skeletons within it just as well as one can living humans. The bony traits of the nose, mouth, femur, and cranium are just as revealing to a good cosmetologist as skin color, hair form, nose form, and lips to the perceptive observer of living humanity. So those of us in forensic anthropology know that the skeleton reflects race, whether 'real' or not, just as well if not better than superficial soft tissue does. The idea that race is 'only skin deep' is simply not true, as any experienced forensic anthropologist will affirm."
Mr. Graham believes that an African Bushman left in Sweden for a thousand years will become a White man because race is only a matter of skin color. Nothing is further from the truth. The media and the educational system deny the differences between the races but, in fact, know they are real.
