I did see the immigration position you have already posted, but if (if its not an inconvenience) you could send me as much information on why immigration should be stopped, I would find it very helpful, as I will debate some classmates on it. The key argument is based on environmental deterioration directly tied to over population. The water supply to the western states is dropping like a rock. A minimum of 25 million people are living off the water of the Colorado river. That water supply has pollutants from both mining and radioactive material from Utah and Nevada. The water sources in Arizona such as Lake Powell are drying up. Las Vegas has a critical water shortage but still is growing at a startling rate. Mexico City has a severe water problem. The aquifers that hold the water under Mexico city are emptying so fast that downtown Mexico is sinking by one foot per year. Also there is less and less Colorado River water reaching Mexico.
This is all tied to population explosion of millions of immigrants both legal and illegal. There is no low cost housing in Southern California. Social services are drained by uncontrolled population growth; those that move farther out into the backcountry destroy or endanger animal habitat and water shed. Fires become a great problem.
Conclusion: Nearly all the problems faced in this region and others is somehow linked to overpopulation through immigration.
