I was sitting, waiting for my order to be given to me when an older guy in his seventies turned to me with a newspaper in his hand and said "this Palestinian girl here was suppose to be a suicide bomber in Israel, but she changed her mind and is speaking out against suicide bombings. Interesting huh?" I said "that's too bad" and that was it. He looked at me for a few seconds, confused, and asked if I meant that it was too bad that she contemplated the act of violence. I say no, you heard me correct, I know a few people in the U.S. that I wouldn't mind a suicide bomber to give them a big hug. He stopped for about ten seconds and asked me if I was in the military. I told him I was in something much deeper than that. He went on, fairly composed, not knowing exactly where I was coming from and started talking about how Israel has a great army and should do OK. I did not respond. He again asked if I was in the service or what, obviously he really wanted to know where I was coming from. My order came up and I left, bidding him a good day. That really didn't sit well with him, he wanted me to answer him. I just left with a big smile.
