Subject: Early Retirement
To Our Valued Older Employees

As a result of the reduction of money budgeted for department areas, we are forced to cut down on our personnel. Under this plan, older employees will be asked to take early retirement, thus permitting the retention of younger, multi-cultural people who represent our future. Therefore, a program to phase out older personnel by the end of the current fiscal year, via retirement, will be placed into effect immediately.

This program will be known as SLAP (Sever Late-Aged Personnel). Employees who are SLAPPED will be given the opportunity to look for jobs outside the department. SLAPPED employees can request a review of their employment before the actual retirement takes
place. This review phase of the program is called SCREW (Survey of Capabilities of Retired Early Workers).

All employees who have been SLAPPED and SCREWED may file an appeal with upper management. The appeal is called SHAFT (Study by Higher Authority Following Termination).

Under the terms of the new policy, an employee may be SLAPPED once, SCREWED twice, but may be shafted as many times as the department deems appropriate.

If an employee follows the above procedure, he/she will be entitled to get HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel's Early Severance) or CLAP (combined Lump-sum Assistance Payment) unless he/she already has AIDS. (Additional Income from Dependents or Spouse) 

As HERPES and CLAP are considered benefits plans, any employee who has received HERPES or CLAP will no long be SLAPPED or SCREWED by the department.

Management wishes to assure the younger employees who remain on board that the department will continue its policy of training its employees through our SHIT (special High Intensity Training) Program.

We take pride in the amount of SHIT our employees receive. We have given our employees more SHIT than any company in the area. If an employee feels they don't receive enough SHIT on the job, see you immediate supervisor. Your supervisor is specially trained to make sure you receive all the SHIT you can stand. And once again, thanks for all your years of service with us.

Tyson Foods Executives Indicted

WASHINGTON (AP) - A federal grand jury in Tennessee indicted executives and managers of Tyson Foods Inc. on charges of conspiring to smuggle illegal aliens to the company's poultry processing plants, the Justice Department (news - web sites) said Wednesday. A 36-count

The undercover agents were paid by Tyson for ``recruitment'' expenses, it said. The case comes in the wake of a border control crackdown following the Sept. 11 attacks. ``This case represents the first time the INS
has taken action against a company of Tyson's magnitude,'' said James Ziglar, commissioner of the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Boston Airport has the worst security record in the nation along with incompetent maintenance on the ground by American.The American airlines plane that went down in New York city recently was found to be a problem concerning the resetting of a computer in flight. Airlines experts say that when this happens you lose all control. Again the maintenance crews at the New York airport that the flight came from is all non white and incompetent. As I have said before this is due to American Airlines preoccupation with the hiring of unskilled non white maintenance people and firing of proud competent white mechanics that show racial pride. I hope all our associates stay off American airlines flights and spread the word to all who will listen. As you will notice ,more American

The next big problem on the horizon for unsuspecting young white troops that will be in Afghanistan in the spring is the dozens of highly contagious diseases including typhus, malaria, and a host of others that they will be infected with. Even the polio shots many received when they were young are wearing off and polio is another crippling disease in
that area of the world. If you have friends or relatives that are serving the beast in that area of
the world its not to late to warn them to get out as soon as possible but for sure before springtime.

State Department Acknowledges Pressure on Lebanon to Cancel Revisionist Meeting

The State Department has finally acknowledged that the United States government pressured Lebanon to ban a peaceful our-day meeting that was to be held in Beirut earlier this year. Gregg Sullivan, a spokesman for the Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, confirmed during telephone conversations with IHR director Mark Weber on December 10 and 11, 2001, that the State Department had told the Lebanese government earlier this year that "it would not be in the best  interests" of the country to allow the "Revisionist and Zionism" conference to take place as scheduled, March 31 through April 3, because to do so would be "perceived badly internationally." EMBARRASSING WORLD WAR TWO BLUNDERS

The first German serviceman killed in the war was killed by the Japanese (China, 1937), the first American serviceman killed was killed by the Russians (Finland 1940), the highest ranking American killed was Lt. Gen. Lesley McNair, killed by the US Army Air Corps. So much for allies. NB. an extra 'l' gives us all-lies.

The youngest US serviceman was 12 year old Calvin Graham, USN. He was wounded and given a Dishonorable Discharge for lying about his age. (His benefits were later restored by act of Congress)


At the time of Pearl Harbor the top US Navy command was called CINCUS (pronounced "sink us"), the shoulder patch of the US Army's 45th Infantry division was the Swastika, and Hitler's private train was named "Amerika". All three were soon changed for PR purposes.

More US servicemen died in the Air Corps than the Marine Corps. While completing the required 30 missions your chance of being killed was 71%. 


Generally speaking there was no such thing as an average fighter pilot. You were either an ace or a target. For instance Japanese ace Hiroyosh iNishizawa shot down over 80 planes. He died while a passenger on a cargo plane.

It was a common practice on fighter planes to load every 5th round with a tracer round to aid in aiming. This was a mistake. Tracers had different ballistics so (at long range) if your tracers were hitting the target 80%of your rounds were missing. Worse yet tracers instantly told your enemy he was under fire and from which direction. Worst of all was the practice of loading a string of tracers at the end of the belt to tell you that you were out of ammo. This was definitely not something you wanted to tell the enemy. Units that stopped using tracers saw their success rate nearly double and their loss rate go down.


7. When allied armies reached the Rhine the first thing men did was pee in it. This was pretty universal from the lowest private to Winston Churchill (who made a big show of it) and Gen. Patton (who had himself photographed in the act).

German Me-264 bombers were capable of bombing New York City but it wasn't worth the effort.

Following World War I, the National Defense Act of 1920 created the authority to form the 45th Infantry Division from four states. These were Oklahoma, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. This division started organizing by 1923, and Oklahoma members camped together for the first time in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in 1924.  First commanding general of the division was Major General During H. Markham, an Oklahoma City businessman, who owned an early city automobile dealership in a structure still bearing his name just north of the Daily Oklahoman building on North Broadway. He later became executive director of the powerful American Petroleum Institute, with headquarters in New York City.  General Markham commanded the division until 1931 Of the division's five commanding generals prior to World War II, four were from Oklahoma.    

For the first 15 years of its existence as a division, members of the 45th proudly wore on their left
shoulders an ancient good luck symbol, the swastika, in yellow on a square red background. But when the swastika, albeit with tentacles facing in a different direction, was adopted by Adolf Hitler and his Nazi party in Germany during the 1930s, it became such an odious symbol that it had to be abandoned as the insignia of the 45th Infantry Division.  For many months division members wore no insignia, while the design for a new emblem was being explored. Many designs were submitted, and the Thunderbird was selected by a board of officers appointed to judge the entries. It was also decided to maintain the same colors of the original emblem, a yellow design over a square red background.  The document approving the design, which was to become famous in World War II and the Korean War, stated that the Thunderbird was an American Indian symbol signifying "sacred bearer of happiness unlimited."

If you want to know how strange it's getting in America, talk to Barry Reingold. Reingold is a 60-year-old retired phone-company worker from the Bay Area who's old enough to withdraw from his IRA without penalty. His parents are Jewish. But Reingold prefers to be known as your basic, average American. Reingold works out every day at a gym in San Francisco, and has done so for the last six years. 

Since Sept. 11, he's been exercising not only his muscles but also his right to free speech. Reingold recalls conversations he's had with people in the weight room about the war. "It gets pretty heated," he told me over the phone last week. "People say what dogs those terrorists are. But I've said, 'Look at what a dog George Bush is.'" That's not exactly a popular position to take these days. "Look at all the hundreds of thousands of workers being laid off in the United States," Reingold continued. "This war is not just about getting terrorists. It's also about money and corporate oil profits." Ahem. This is the kind of talk that gets people's heartbeats racing even without a Stairmaster. 

"People question my loyalty," Reingold continued. "They say, 'You don't support America.' And I say, 'Sure I do. I work here. I was born here. I pay taxes. I just have a problem with the ruling class.'" Reingold's not sure, but he's next to positive that his First Amendment workout got him a visitation from the FBI. The FBI, you will recall, has begun knocking on the doors of an estimated 85 people in the Bay Area who are among 5,000 in the nation singled out as "potential witnesses." They are men ages 18-33 who possess visas and passports from Arab and Muslim countries where there are known Al Qaeda operatives. 

As it turns out, the list of 5,000 is a much smaller subset of an even larger group of people being
interviewed. From Sept. 11 to November alone, the FBI received more than 435,000 tips. And, as Reingold found out, you don't have to be Arab or Muslim to get nominated for a house call.  I have a speaker downstairs in my apartment building to let people in," Reingold said. "One afternoon, someone buzzes. And I said, 'Who's there?' And they say, 'The FBI.' And I'm thinking, 'Why is the FBI here?'" He buzzed them into the building and met them in the hallway. There were
two young men, one white, one black, apparently in their 20s. Reingold asked them for ID, and the two flashed him their badges. "And so I asked them what this was all about," Reingold recalled. "And they asked me if I was a member of the gym [in San Francisco]. And I said yes. "And then they said someone in the gym had reported that I had been talking about terrorism and Sept. 11, oil profits, capitalism and Afghanistan," Reingold said. "And I said, 'Oh, really.'" Reingold didn't think about calling a lawyer. "At the time, I was sort of shaken up," he admitted to me. "If I were in my right mind, I probably would have met them outside the building, where I could have witnesses for all to see this. Or at least have pencil and paper to take the agents' names and notes." But he didn't. "And then the FBI guy said, 'You know you have the right to freedom of
speech,'" Reingold recalled. "And I said, 'Yes, I know I do, don't I? And that's the end of the conversation. I don't wish to talk to you any further.'

" What did they say to that? "That they had to write a report," said Reingold. "And I said, 'I'm sorry.' And they said, 'But we really have to write a report.' At that point I just closed the door, and that was it." The agents didn't force the issue, nor were they coercive. But Reingold was bothered and upset. Here he was, just a regular guy expressing his opinion. You know, one of those freedoms we are supposedly defending in the war. Reingold confronted the gym about his privacy having been violated, but the gym manager at the 24 Hour Fitness Center on Folsom Street in San Francisco never officially responded. When I called the club, manager Chris Robinson responded to inquiries with a chilly, "No comment." Calls were also placed to the FBI, but were unreturned. 

The only thing Reingold has done to date is file an affadavit with an attorney to commemorate the FBI visitation. It wasn't until then that he understood the true nature of what had happened to him. "It's like we're becoming a police state," Reingold said. Reingold firmly believes that had he been Arab or Muslim, it would have been much worse for him. He's certain he would have been taken in for more vigorous questioning, maybe even jailed. Then, he said, he'd have to decide which was worse, fascism or racism. Reingold isn't sure what recourse he has now, if any. But at the very least, his story should serve as a cautionary tale for those concerned about what's happening on the domestic front in this war on terror. Lucas Gutentag of the National ACLU's Immigrant Rights Project believes most people aren't concerned about what's going on with internal security in this nation because they're under the impression that the FBI is targeting and profiling mainly noncitizens. "It camouflages the full effects of the [Justice Department's] policies because [citizens] don't feel directly affected, " Gutentag said. "But the principles the government is relying on result in the same kind of practices against everyone." BOBBY FISCHER, the reclusive American chess grandmaster, has broken years of silence to support the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

The Telegraph has discovered that Mr. Fischer gave an interview to an obscure radio station in the Philippines hours after the events on September 11.

Mr. Fischer is already wanted for questioning by the FBI for breaking UN sanctions by taking part in a chess match in Serbia against Boris Spacey in 1992 - his first for 20 years.

In his interview on September 11 with Radio Bomb in Baggie City, Mr. Fischer said: "This is all wonderful news. It is time to finish off the US once and for all.

"I was happy and could not believe what was happening. All the crimes the US has committed in the world. This just show, what goes around comes around, even to the US.

I have been following you in the media for quite some time. I always thought that you would be the one to "get the ball rolling." I'm afraid that if this ball isn't rolled soon we are headed for disaster even sooner. The lonewolves are growing faint. The organizations are few and only vocal at best. Tell me what we can do besides talk. The "Church" is active but overly vocal at times. We talk a lot about activism, but there is none. It is still my opinion that any positive action that is successful must come from independent contractors and not membership organizations. These organizations are doing the best they can to propagandize. That is extremely important. But it is only 50% of the picture. For chemicals to be combined in a lab it takes time and the right choice to achieve success. The right combination can create a very explosive mixture depending on timing and substance.

The Watts riots in the sixties were not an accident. Agents propagandized the area for months like pouring gasoline all over the ground. Long after the gas is spread someone comes along and flips a cigarette butt and presto.

The chemistry is not yet right even though it seems to late. Your job is to continue to mix the chemicals so when the time is right the upheaval will naturally take place. From that point its up to us. It won't start in the White community. It will start with demands from non-whites that the Iron heel will not be able to meet without diminishing high profits. Racists from the British National Party have joined forces with extremists from the Sikh and Hindu communities in an anti-Islamic campaign that has been blamed for stirring up racial violence.

The campaign involves the distribution of thousands of CDs, tapes and leaflets claiming that Islam poses a threat to Britain. Sikh activists in Southall, west London, have passed hundreds of addresses of Sikh and Hindu community leaders to BNP activists who want their support.

The CD includes an informal discussion between BNP leader Nick Griffin and a Sikh. It is likely that much of the content of the recording will become illegal when new anti-incitement legislation becomes law.

Labeled as a joint statement from the BNP, Sikhs and Hindus, the recording consists of Griffin reading and analyzing the Koran, followed by a discussion with Midlands-based Sikh activist Rajinder Singh. The language is inflammatory and anti-Islamic.

'Islam is the biggest threat Britain has ever faced,' Griffin says.

What about the thousands of niggers crawling all over England? In the introduction, an unnamed BNP member says: 'This is our country and you [Muslims] will never take it from us.'

The campaign has been condemned by all leading Hindu and Sikh organizations. 'The BNP are trying to divide ethnic minorities. In any community there are bound to be a few individuals who are willing to side with anyone, the Devil included,' said Indarjit Singh, headof the Sikh Council for Interfaith Relations.

Ramesh Kallidai, general secretary of the Hindu Council UK, said: 'Such bigotry conducted on the base of religion is deplorable.

But a handful of Sikhs and Hindus have joined forces with the BNP. The party, which wants Britain's ethnic minorities voluntarily repatriated, has established contact with Sikhs in London, Reading and Northampton, and with Hindus in London, Leeds and Bradford.

Ammo Singh, 30, an accountant from west London, said he represented about 100 young Sikhs and Hindus who had collaborated in the making and distribution of the BNP recording. He said this was 'just the first  stage' of co-operation with the BNP. 'We are not joining the BNP, we are just working with them. We have a very friendly relationship,' he said.

Rajinder Singh, a part-time teacher from Wellingborough, said he intended to set up an Asian Friends of the BNP group to act as a supporting body and conduit for funds for people sympathetic to the party's anti-Islamic stance. He was born in Lahore, Pakistan, but fled communal tensions and came to Britain in 1967. He is openly anti-Muslim, but believes the BNP can be persuaded to accept Sikhs as British.

Muslim leaders said that all religious faiths were united against the BNP and only a handful of individuals would sympathise with them.

Anti-racism campaigners say the BNP campaign has contributed to a backlash of violence against ethnic minorities in the wake of the 11 September attacks in the US. Hoax bomb threats have been made to a mosque in London's Regent's Park and two other mosques have been attacked with petrol bombs.

Survivors of the Holocaust pass sufferings on to sons and daughters

VIENNA (AP) - Robert Fleischner blocks out memories of his childhood. Stefan Strosievici recoils at the sight of fuzzy-headed chemotherapy patients and the tattooed arms of straphangers on the streetcar. 

They and tens of thousands of other Jews born after the Holocaust escaped the wartime suffering of their fathers, mothers and other relatives - yet inherited a lifetime of their pain. 

With the Holocaust generation now in their 70s and 80s, each year sees fewer firsthand victims alive. But the legacy of their horrors has left many of their sons and daughters emotionally disfigured. 

Most of these "second generation" victims have gone through life without understanding their psychological scars, experts say. But more are beginning to recognize they need help - and are seeking it. 

"Instead of having less work treating Holocaust-related problems over the past few years, we're actually seeing our workload rise," says Dr. David Vyssoki of Esra, a Vienna outpatient clinic  that treats victims of the Nazi era. 

Esra had a dozen second-generation cases in 1996, the first year such records were kept. It treated 51 in the first nine months of this year. 

Vyssoki attributes the increase to the "time of latency" - as the years add up, untreated emotional traumas become more intense.  The typical patient knows little of his parents' ordeal. 

The sufferings of the Nazis' extermination camps, the deaths of close relatives, were too horrific to discuss, creating "an oppressive climate of silence, where the children grow up carrying an unspoken burden," Vyssoki says. 

Talking it out would have offered catharsis. Instead, guilt has built in the minds of children knowing they escaped the hell their parents went through. 

Vyssoki cites an Israeli study documenting how women with breast cancer who were second-generation daughters of Nazi victims differed from other women with breast cancer. 

"They were paralysed; their coping mechanism self-destructed much more frequently than cancer patients who did not grow up with the unspoken terror of death," he says. 

Even children of Jews who escaped the Nazi camps carry some of the Holocaust burden. 

Strosievici's parents fled Vienna and the Nazis to the Soviet Union. But pressed, the 44-year-old acknowledges feeling queasy when he sees chemotherapy patients who have lost their hair because of treatment. "It reminds me of concentration camp inmates." 

Tattoos, he says, bring back memories of relatives who came back from the camps but bore identification numbers inked into their forearms by guards. 

Fleischner exhibits deeper hurts. His father and mother together lost more than a dozen close relatives - fathers, mothers, uncles and cousins, either sent to the gas chambers or worked to death in Nazi camps. 

His mother "repressed the Holocaust completely," Fleischner says. His father blocked out his time in the camps by speaking only of episodes "where he came out looking good" - outsmarting guards in the daily survival struggle for that extra bit of food, or the easier work detail. 

"I have no memories of my youth," Fleischner, 55, says of growing up in Vienna, where adoring millions cheered Adolf Hitler when he visited to mark the absorption of Austria into Nazi Germany on March 15, 1938. "The only thing I remember was the fear of my mother because our district was very Anti-Semitic, so she always took care to make sure that I never played
with the other children. 

"I built up a wall around myself, without knowing why," he adds. 

Painfully shy, "an observer, never a participant," Fleischner turned to Esra - "help" in Hebrew - in the mid-'90s on advice from his younger brother, who worked there as a psychiatric nurse. 

The institute, financed by the Vienna city government and the Jewish community, is one of only two of its kind in Europe, along with a similar institute in the Netherlands. It set up 3 years of individual and group therapy for Fleischner. 

"People often collapsed crying," he says of some of those sessions. "Some things I just wouldn't do, like shaking hands with a psychologist pretending to be a Nazi guard." 

He came away not healed but healing - still unable to remember his first 12 years but ready to embrace Judaism after rejecting God for allowing the Holocaust, and willing to reach out rather than waiting for others to make the first move. 

He can now watch televised violence or Holocaust documentaries. Divorced after a "marriage of silence," he has remarried. And for the first time, he has friends. 

"I realized that all this time, I felt guilty for something I had nothing to do with," he says softly. "I have been freed of a burden that I carried for as long as I can remember, without it belonging to me."

Neo-Nazi literature invades peaceful Sequim 12/27/2001

SEATTLE - In a peaceful and pretty Sequim, Washington, neighborhood with beautiful mountain views, ugly pro white neo-Nazi literature has turned up at residents' homes.  Residents found copies of a neo-Nazi newsletter with a swastika on the front page in their newspaper tubes
and mailboxes. 

"It was vicious. Everything bad you can think of was in that letter," said Olive Anderson.  "It was shocking. It was horrible," said another resident. " I had a miscarriage because of it and the  cows wont let down their milk." The newsletter claims to state the views of the National Socialist Movement and says it is a descendant of the original Nazi party. No names were listed on the newsletter, only a post office box and an e-mail address.  Computer experts with the police department were assigned to find out who was responsible for the letter. They found that person in prison.  Police traced the email address to a prison guard at the Clallam Bay Corrections Center. Police say that a guard posted the following message on a neo-Nazi publication Web site:  I work at a prison and know a few inmates who need to see your publication. I'm going to pass it along. A straight-armed salute to you gentlemen.  Police told prison officials the guard is no longer employed.  "At least he can't disseminate his hate particularly in a prison setting," said Police Chief Pig Byron Nelson. 

At this time, no charges have been filed. Police acknowledge people have a first amendment right to distribute such literature in a legal manner. The thought police also have the right to get  you fired and mess up your family. "It is frightening to know there are people who are like that, particularly under the circumstances of today," said Chief Jew Worshipper Nelson. Which reminds us, Any police officer that is not for us is our mortal enemy. When such officers are gunned down by non whites do not in any way support them. We only support those who support us.

Democracy vs. Freedom (And The Nation-State)?

Almost all libertarians (with the exception of the heroic Von Mises Institute) want open borders because they think border control is just one more tyrannical act of government. Hans-Hermann Hoppe, a libertarian who teaches economics at University of Nevada at Las Vegas, has finally set the movement right on this question. Free immigration, he explains, is a misnomer. What the open borders crowd are really pushing is forcible integration, a denial of the rights of natives. This argument is just one of many that make Democracy”The God That Failed deeply subversive, even revolutionary.

This book is a powerful critique of government, specifically of democratic government, which Prof. Hoppe thinks is worse, theoretically, than monarchy. It marshals the laws of economics and human nature to explode one liberal myth after another. 

For example, many people think free immigration and free trade are necessary complements, but Prof. Hoppe points out they have little in common. Free trade requires willing buyers and sellers of goods, but immigrants walk across the border whether they are wanted or not. Even if there are employers who want immigrants, it does not mean other citizens want to share parks, shopping malls, streets, and movie theaters with them. Therefore, if capitalists really want foreign workers, they should keep them in self-sufficient company towns rather than force them on the rest of us.

Prof. Hoppe points out that antipathy towards those unlike ones own group is perfectly natural and no obstacle to trade: 

From the fact that one does not want to associate with or live in the neighborhood of Blacks, Turks, Catholics or Hindus, etc., it does not follow that one does not want to trade with them from a distance. To the contrary, it is precisely the absolute voluntariness of human association and separation ”the absence of any form of forced integration ”that makes peaceful relationships ”free trade ”between culturally, racially, ethnically, or religiously distinct people possible.

Immigration policy, in Hoppes controversial view, is just one example of how democracies are inferior to monarchies. A king takes a proprietary view of his kingdom ”because he owns it”and wants to increase the value of the estate he will pass on to his heirs. By contrast,  Hoppe argues, democratically-elected rulers act like tenants who want to get as much out of their temporary occupancy as possible. They have to appeal to the mob to be elected, and once in office care more about short-term exploitation than long-term improvements. 

An owner/king has a simple immigration policy: He expels criminals and losers and admits only productive people. Prof. Hoppe explains how presidents are different: 

[B]ums and unproductive people may well be preferred as residents and citizens, because they create more so-called ˜social problems, and democratic rulers thrive on the existence of such problems. Moreover, bums and inferior people will likely support egalitarian policies, whereas geniuses and superior people will not. The result of this policy of non-discrimination [in immigration policy] is forced integration: the forcing of masses of inferior immigrants onto domestic property owners who,  if the decision were left to them, would have sharply discriminated and chosen very different neighbors for themselves.

It is egalitarianism” the myth behind one-man-one-vote that Prof. Hoppe dislikes most about democracy. There is nothing ethically wrong with inequality, Prof. Hoppe explains, but democracy promotes the idea that inequality is an outrage, which leads to  indignation over differences of wealth and income. Politicians win elections by promising to reduce these differences, which means one  of the central tasks of government is redistribution of wealth by taxing away the property of one group of citizens and giving it to another.

Transfer payments of this kind foster a spirit of larceny: 

Everyone may openly covet everyone elses property, as long as he appeals to democracy; and everyone may act on his desire for another mans property, provided that he finds entrance into government.

Since candidates win office by appealing to covetousness, prime ministers and presidents are selected for their proven efficiency as morally uninhibited demagogues. Kings, on the other hand, were not necessarily bad people. Moreover, they didn't believe in equality and didn't have to win votes, so had neither theoretical nor practical reasons to redistribute wealth.

Prof. Hoppe takes the view that cultural conservatism is not compatible with the big-government nanny-state democracy inevitably brings. Social security and Medicare support people in old age and makes them less dependent on their children, thus weakening family ties and reducing birth rates. Support for single mothers encourages illegitimacy. All such programs subsidize irresponsibility.

Ultimately, it is inherent in the nature of government which Prof. Hoppe defines as a territorial monopoly of compulsion to increase its powers and exploit citizens. If there must be governments, they should do nothing more than protect property against fraud, crime, and foreign invasion, but as Prof. Hoppe explains, they always want to do more:

In the name of social, public or national security, our caretakers protect us from global warming and cooling and the extinction of animals and plants, from husbands and wives, parents and employers, poverty, disease, disaster, ignorance, prejudice, racism, sexism, homophobia, and countless other public enemies and dangers.

In the United States, all this protection requires a Code of Federal Regulations that takes up 26 feet of shelf space, thus revealing the almost totalitarian power of democratic government. It also requires high taxes and armies of parasitic bureaucrats.

The United States is, in fact, a perfect example of the futility of trying to limit government. It has a plainly-written Constitution that enumerates specific federal powers and reserves the rest to the states and the people. But presidents and bureaucrats simply ignore the Constitution.

What to do? Prof. Hoppe thinks it is pointless to tinker with policy, thereby leaving the territorial monopolist of compulsion in place. He insists on outright abolition of government, with private, competing organizations assuming its few genuinely useful functions. He thinks insurance companies could protect against crime and invasion, just as they do against natural disasters. He also thinks that in the absence of government, natural aristocrats would arise to arbitrate contract disputes between citizens.   Prof. Hoppe is not optimistic government can be abolished soon indeed, it is expanding relentlessly towards a global government that would be colossally repressive yet he reminds us that every government can be brought down by a mere change in public opinion, i.e., by the withdrawal of the publics consent and cooperation. He suggests that, after a critical mass of opinion was achieved, a few cities might secede and form natural order societies, whose success would prompt imitators.

Appealing as this vision may be, it is hard not to be skeptical of the idea of abolishing government entirely. Insurance companies might be able to track down burglars and rapists, but it is hard to imagine even the best-equipped among them managing to protect libertarian statelets from greedy neighbors with governments, armies and potential immigrants. Abolition of government is the sort of experiment one might prefer to watch some other country try before attempting it oneself.

But whether a natural order society is ever established, it is refreshing to read an author who so clearly and logically justifies the contempt for government that is increasingly widespread. It may never be possible to put every last bureaucrat out to pasture, and so long as even a few remain we are well advised to heed Prof. Hoppes warning: 

Once the principle of government - judicial monopoly and the power to tax - is incorrectly accepted as just, any notion of restraining government power and safeguarding individual liberty and property is illusory.
