DIVERSITY T h e O r i g i n a l I n t e n t : Uniformity in Culture / Diversity in Thought In a Richmond Times-Dispatch editorial, "One Small Thing" [April 27th], the editor inadvertently presents a case against growing racial and cultural diversity in America: addressing the Columbine massacre - "School districts in other parts of the country that have required uniforms have seen marked declines in fights, feuds, and lesser discipline problems . . . They lessen the differences . . . and provide a constant, blatant reminder that EVERYONE [editor's emphasis] belongs to a larger fraternity." So lessoning differences protects schools and, by logical extension, protects at-large society from social breakdown? Does racial uniformity in communities protect against fights and feuds? Is it possible, or even likely, that increasing diversity in a civilization -- increasing racial, cultural, religious and lingual diversity -- increases fights and feuds? Well, of course it does. Then why not repeal the 1965 Immigration Act, which was passed on the promise to opponents that it wouldn't be used to flood white America with Third World races - that it wouldn't be used to alter America' racial mix from white to people of color? Or is there no logical connection between what happens in the microcosm of, say, Columbine High School and at-large society? Could it be that that paper's pro-immigration stand - its welcoming of Third World races and their cultures into white communities across America - helps to set up conditions for future warring and hardship? The United States has announced plans to grant Egypt a free trade agreement for supporting its campaign against terrorism, continuing a long-term policy of rewarding Cairo financially for its political stands. President George Bush has been successful in securing the support of most of the Arab states by what is seen by many as tactics of bribery and coercion. KANO, NIGERIA. Christian-Muslim clashes in another small town in northern Nigeria have left 10 dead, with hundreds having fled their homes and left many buildings destroyed. Gwantu is the seat of the headquarters of the Sanga local government area which is Christian dominated. The situation has deteriorated since Friday when authorities introduced a version of Islamic law, alongside customary law. In February last year, between 2 000 and 3 000 people were killed in clashes between Muslims and Christians in Kaduna over calls for the introduction of Islamic law in the state. Relations between Muslims and Christians in northern Nigeria have been tense for years and have been put under particular strain in the past two years over the introduction of Islamic law in a dozen northern states, where power has traditionally been held by Muslim overlords. LUSAKA. Zambian former head of state's Kenneth Kaunda's son Tilyenji has been officially chosen to be the presidential candidate for the opposition United National Independence Party. Ruling President Frederick Chiluba, once hailed as the liberator from three decades of dictatorship by Kenneth Kaunda, has increasingly become unpopular himself as the old Africa-syndrome of trying to hang on to power manifested itself in him, too. Meanwhile, Zambian Vice President Enock Kavindele has told parliament he intends introducing a law to criminalise the deliberate spreading of HIV/Aids, jailing those found guilty for up to 20 years. Zambia is said to be one of the black African countries most affected by the Aids disease. BLANTYRE. A coalition of lawyers in Malawi has strongly condemned a possible third term bid by President Bakili Muluzi after his constitutional two terms expire in 2004. Although Muluzi is displaying similar 'president-for-life' tendencies as other black African rulers, Malawi is expected not to follow the example of Zimbabwe, but rather that of Zambia, where popular pressure eventually forced the incumbent to step down at the end of his last term. NAMPULA. While Mozambique's opposition Renamo party has overwhelmingly re-elected former guerrilla chief Afonso Dhlakama as its president at the close of a four-day congress in the northern city of Nampula, police arrested two people outside the Renamo convention after about 30 former fighters tried to disrupt the meeting. Waving posters, the group accused Renamo leader, Afonso Dhlakama of marginalizing his former fighters, who laid down their arms as part of a 1992 peace deal that ended the country's brutal 16-year civil war. Thursday's demonstration was the second by former Renamo fighters this week and both were marred by violence. MASERU. The attempted coup by a disgruntled military in 1998 is still haunting the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. In what is seen as an attempt to squash the opposition ahead of the scheduled elections, Lesotho's prime minister, Pakalitha Mosisili, has threatened opposition party members involved in a 1998 army mutiny that they will be charged with high treason for 'plotting to overthrow the lawful government'. The 1998 fighting left scores of soldiers and citizens dead and drew in an invasion force from neighboring Azanian ('New SA'). Analysts have pointed out that most of the present leftist and communist rulers of southern African states have undertaken to help each other to hold onto power, by military intervention if necessary, against any opposition. COLONIAL TIMES BUJUMBURA. The ink on the Burundi 'peace treaty' has scarcely dried, and the killing of civilians by Hutu terrorists has resumed with a vengeance. Eleven people were massacred in a vehicle ambush by one of the Hutu rebel groups, who never signed any cease-fire and who were conveniently ignored by the determined 'peace-makers' under the leadership of former Azanian ('New SA') President Nelson Mandela. Azanian and other troops from black-ruled African states are being deployed in the strife-torn country, where a Tutsi minority is clinging to military power in the face of a night-mare genocide scenario similar to the one in neighboring Rwanda. Unwilling to step in themselves, the former colonial powers have induced 'regional powers' like the 'New SA'(Azania) to take over a neo-colonial role. RAINBOW REPORT ANC/Communist law-makers are putting the finishing touches to new legislation, which could soon dish out 100 Rand of tax-payers' money every month to each and every 'poor' in the country. Spokesmen for the ruling Regime have explained this money will 'alleviate poverty' and, quote, stimulate the economy, unquote. Such a law is expected to put even more strain on a faltering economy and the bloated bureaucracy, leading to even higher taxes. Following the tremendous grass-roots support for Premier Gerhard Morkel in the Western Cape, the national New National Party leadership has officially backed down on its decision to suspend his party membership. The NNP excuse for the retraction was, quote, in order to "calm down emotions", unquote. In reality, cynics have pointed out, Morkel's urgent high court application to have the suspension overturned, most NNP MECs in the provincial cabinet's decision to back Morkel rather than NNP national leader Marthinus van Schalkwyk, and the temporary lifting of Morkel's suspension in terms of an interim agreement have forced the national leadership to pull back and find another way of bringing the Western Cape into the desired alliance with the ruling ANC/Communists. Claiming that 'the current overheated atmosphere is largely based on disinformation and the stirring of emotions', NNP deputy executive director Daryl Swanepoel indicated that the NNP leadership 'wants to create a calm atmosphere, which would be conducive to the execution of the NNP federal council's decision to establish participatory government at all levels of government', and that party leaders 'did not want such matters to be decided in court but through 'orderly discussions within the party'. Translated from Azania-speak, according to Morkel supporters, this means that the party apparatchiks have realized they have to avoid popular sentiment and an open hearing in court at all costs to be able to manipulate the situation and drag an unwilling and screaming electorate into an alliance with the hated Regime. In what is seen as a clear give-away, Swanepoel's statement did not rule out later action against Morkel or other 'rebels', saying the NNP 'would consider how to deal with any individual's action against the federal council decision on the basis of merit'... . Too strong at the moment to tackle directly, Morkel and his backers are to be left until the national leadership had manipulated the provincial structures back into the desired pro-ANC/Communist line. Winnie Mandela, estranged wife of first Azanian ('New SA') President Nelson Mandela, is busy rebuilding part of her notorious Siyaya 'High Class Restaurant' in Orlando West, Soweto, - after a Supreme Court order had it declared illegal and demolished. Mandela continued building in th residential area without ever submitting plans to the council or applying for business rights for the property. Asked what the council would do about Mandela's latest illegal building operation, Kgotso Chikane, spokesperson for Amos Masondo, Mayor of Johannesburg, said on Sunday that, quote, Masondo would meet with councillors about the matter again on Monday, unquote. Formost of her alleged crimes, which include the ass-murder of young blacks, the influential black ANC leader Mandela has never even been prosecuted... Meanwhile, Mandela says she is 'tired of politicians using her name to get publicity for themselves', after Democratic Alliance chief whip Douglas Gibson reported her to the Azanian parliament's ethics committee for allegedly failing to disclose her business interests in Soweto. According to observers, this latest outburst is typical of totally self-centered mass killers unable to see or recognize anything other than their own interests. The Rand Water Board has said that the R30 million which is spent annually on fluoridating South Africa's drinking water should rather be used to provide running water for 300 000 people in poverty stricken communities. This casts a new light on the old debate between those who claim fluoridating water is good for children's teeth, and those who claim it poses a health risk or who simply consider it to be a waste of money. Some even maintain it was a deliberate policy to lower the urban population's will to resist the state's authoritarianism and repressive policies, which was originally launched by the white government hell-bent on its creeping hand-over to the ANC/Communist Regime. The Rand Water Board has indicated it feels the present government should reconsider fluoridation of water and rather investigate possibilities of adding fluoride to milk, sugar, salt or mealie meal. TERROR TRAIL In another example of lynch-justice amongst blacks disgusted with the escalating black terror gripping all parts of the 'New SA' (Azania), more than 400 angry blacks traveling in over 100 taxis went in search for those suspected of killing a taxi driver, according to statements handed to the Durban High Court. Five suspects were eventually rounded up and killed at the Molweni cemetery to avenge the murder of the driver, identified only as Mr Shabane. Police later arrested 14 men who are currently facing charges of kidnapping and murder. They all pleaded not guilty. The remains of Martie van Biljon, missing wife of murdered Ronald van Biljon, have presumably been found. Police have rearrested a fourth black suspect in connection with the brutal kidnap and murder of the white Badplaas couple and have found remains 'scattered ... by wild dogs after the body had been buried in a shallow grave'. Three black men, Piet Mabayi, 22, Doctor Maseko, 23, and 18-year-old Wiseman Zondo have already appeared in the Carolina Regional Court. Thirteen people have been arrested in different parts of the Transkei in connection with the murders of seven taxi operators. The seven were killed execution-style in Qumbu. Competing for fewer passengers in a shrinking market, black taxi operators frequently hire killers to eliminate rivals in ongoing 'taxi wars'. A 45-year-old man was shot and killed by two black teenagers dressed in school uniform in Kew on Friday morning. Police Inspector Dennis Adrio said the man from Edenvale was driving on London Road when he was approached by the two young killers, aged between 17 and 15, around 8.30am. They demanded his cell phone at gunpoint. One shot was fired, fatally wounding him in the chest. The killers took the cell phone and fled on foot. Schools in the New SA (Azania) are now mixed, and the influx of lacks has brought with it a corresponding rise in murder, drug abuse and violence in previously peaceful schools. Two Mayfair Primary School pupils, aged 14 and 16, are to miss a further three weeks of school as they remain in a place of safety on charges of attempting to murder a 13-year-old classmate. The two are provisionally charged with attempted murder, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possession of an unlicensed firearm. A pupil at Die Burger High school pupil in Delarey, Florida, was stabbed, shot and seriously wounded on Tuesday afternoon, according to West Rand police. The 17-year-old boy, after an argument with his schoolmates on Monday, was confronted by his attackers outside the school grounds and shot and stabbed. The boy sustained a minor bullet wound to the head and a serious knife wound in the back. He was taken to a local hospital. The black suspects are still at large. SA GULAG A member of the vigilante group Mapogo-A-Mathamaga has escaped from Nelspruit's "escape proof" police cells, - just two days after executive director of the Independent Complaints Directorate (ICD) Advocate Karen McKenzie declared the station's holding cells 'escape proof'. Veli Motha, who is considered dangerous after being arrested in connection with the killing of a Mozambican suspect, is the third prisoner to have escaped from Nelspruit police custody this year, but the first to escape while in a holding cell. The ICD, which is a government-appointed police watchdog body, has launched an internal investigation into the escape to determine how a hacksaw was smuggled into the cells and whether police had helped Motha escape. WITCH HUNT UPDATE Dr Wouter Basson's show trial, which commenced just over two years ago in the High Court in Pretoria and saw hundreds of witnesses testifying for the state, is now entering its last phase with the state commencing final argument. Dr Torie Pretorius, one of three prosecutors in the trial, on Monday argued before Justice Willie Hartzenberg that Basson should be convicted on three drug-related charges and that the court should reject his version that he was framed. Senior prosecutor Mr Anton Ackermann SC will later commence with argument on the fraud and theft charges against Basson. Basson was initially charged with 76 counts, ranging from murder and fraud to drug dealing, conspiracy and contravening the Protection of Information Act. Six of the conspiracy charges have already been quashed, and Basson was discharged on 15 further charges at the close of the State's case. The defence has argued that most, if not all of the state's evidence is at best highly circumstantial and based on evidence given by people threatened with prosecution themselves, if they do not testify against Basson. On Monday, the prosecutor argued that the state should not reject the evidence of a key witness, drug dealer, Grant Wentzel, 'just because Wentzel was an unsavory character'... The first audit of the NHS's abortion clinics, by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG), has found that one in four women is at a greater risk of acquiring an infection after a termination than they should be and that 34 per cent of abortion services fail to meet minimum targets for acceptable waiting periods. About 180,000 abortions a year are performed in England and Wales, making it one of the most common gynecological procedures. Pro-life activists accuse abortion clinics of being 'slaughter-houses for the innocent' and have always maintained that the killing of unborn babies is nothing but murder. Socialist Britain, like most of Europe presently ruled by leftist governments, has legalized abortion and is now reaping a harvest of hundreds of thousands of murdered fetuses a year. The Bible gives schools the right of corporal punishment, according to a group of teachers and parents fighting a High Court battle for the right to restore discipline in Christian schools. Counsel John Friel told a judge sitting in London that the Christians 'believe as part of their religious worship and part of their religious beliefs that corporal punishment is part of their Christian doctrine'. Mr Friel said the Christian teachers and parents were asking the court to decide whether the 1996 Education Act, as amended by section 131 of the 1998 School Standards and Framework Act, "completely abolishes the use of physical punishment in independent schools". Many Christians of all churches have long maintained that the banishment of corporal punishment is one of the reasons for the present-day problems at schools. KARACHI. Pakistani police have said that they have arrested four people including a key suspect in relation to last month's massacre of 16 Christians by Islamic extremists. The killing has highlighted the precarious position the Christian minority holds in Muslim-ruled countries like Pakistan. APARTHEID LOG HALIFAX. The director-general of the International Committee of the Red Cross has accused Israel of violating the provisions of the 4th Geneva Convention in the Palestinian territories. While the Israeli army is now demolishing Palestinian factories suspected of producing mortar shells in the Gaza Strip, international concern is growing over the blurring of the traditional line separating military from civilian targets, with both sides equally guilty of atrocities. Arab states, militant groups and the press have criticized the United States' decision to slap financial sanctions on radical Palestinian and Lebanese groups in the name of the US-led war on terror. The terror attack on the World Trade Center has in a way been bad news for the Palestinian resistance, linking it with what is generally perceived to be Arab terrorism. PERTH. The Australian navy has detained a boat carrying about 150 Asian asylum seekers on Monday, the latest in a string of interceptions since August when the government announced a tough new policy of turning away refugees trying to sneak into the country aboard boats. The Australian government, once vociferous in condemning the old SA's influx control laws and other apartheid measures, now implements an unashamedly racist policy of returning illegal non-white immigrants to Indonesian waters where it can, or otherwise sending them to detention centers set up in the impoverished Pacific nations of Nauru and Papua New Guinea to prevent them from reaching Australia. An unmanned US Air Force Predator spy plane has been lost over Afghanistan, the Pentagon has said. The Taliban regime has on occasion claimed having shot down American planes, but so far the US has not admitted to having lost a manned aircraft, although a US helicopter wreck has been shown on TV. An American pilot being captured and tortured by the 'mad mullahs' and their fanatical supporters, is expected to have a similar effect on American morale as the televised brutal killing of US soldiers in Somalia years ago. Meanwhile, Afghanistan's Taliban regime has claimed that 95 American soldiers have been killed since the launch of the US-led military campaign. Again, there is no independent confirmation of this, since all journalists inside the country are either lackeys of the ruling regime or tightly controlled. The bombing of Afghanistan by the US air force is continuing. 20 people are reported to have died in new US air strikes in support of the Northern Alliance. There has also been a build-up of US ground troops, who are expected to reinforce anti-Taliban forces to help them gain ground, - something they have so far failed to do, in spite of all the bombing. The Taliban, of course, says that the US war in Afghanistan will be long and that American forces will face defeat once they move the conflict from the air to the ground... ISLAMABAD. The movement of thousands of armed pro-Taliban Pakistanis into Afghanistan to wage 'jihad', or 'holy war', against the United States is accelerating. Like in the days of the mujaheddin fighting the Russians, there seems to be no shortage of Muslims willing to go a d join their 'brethren' across the border. LONDON. A British animal rights protestor has died after he launching a hunger strike that lasted for several months. According to doctors, his body had been fatally weakened by the prolonged fast. HAVANNA. The strongest hurricane to hit Cuba in decades has left five people dead, toppled trees, downed power lines and damaged homes, according to civil defense officials. Hurricane 'Michelle', now downgraded to a Category Three storm on the Saffir-Simpson scale with a maximum of five, crashed ashore on Cuba's southwest coast with 215kmh winds and driving rains. This lawsuit, allegedly filed by Hereford Corporation in Panama and Hans-Dirk Oldemeier in Germany, names LSF and Willis and Elisabeth Carto as defendants. However, Hereford Corporation is an "alter ego" of the Cartos (Elisabeth Carto was born in Herford, Germany), and David Stroud, the attorney who filed the suit, shares office space with Brian Urtnowski, long-time Carto and Liberty Lobby attorney in California. Hereford Corporation is listed on property tax records as the owner of Carto's hillside mansion in Escondido, California. For years, Carto claimed that he was simply renting the house, and had nothing to do with Hereford. Later, during a deposition in the Cartos' failed lawsuit against the city of Costa Mesa for its part in the April 1995 SWAT team raid on his home, Carto acknowledged under oath that he had formed Hereford Corporation as a holding entity for his California property, and that it was under his control. (This transfer was part of Carto's extensive efforts to make himself judgment-proof by retaining control of assets that seemed not to be in has name.) For years after making this admission, the Cartos challenged any assertion that they controlled Hereford or the house. Once Carto even appeared in court claiming to be "J. W. Young," in the capacity of agent for Hereford, during an easement dispute. After it was established that Carto did indeed control Hereford, Judge Runston Maino ruled that Hereford was an "alter ego" of Carto, and that the house could be seized and sold in partial satisfaction of Carto's multi-million dollar debt to LSF/IHR. As a result, Carto again began claiming in bankruptcy court and elsewhere that the house really did belong to him, so he would get the homeowner's exemption when the house was sold at sheriff's auction. This exemption was granted in Federal bankruptcy court in April 1999. Now, however, "Hereford" has come forward to claim in effect that Carto has been lying about owning the house, alleging that the Cartos gave the house to Elisabeth's nephew, Hans-Dirk Oldemeier, who now supposedly controls Hereford Corporation. Much has been made about the potential wave of Islamic Fundamentalism sweeping through the Middle East and toppling every pro-Western government in its path, but it would take a lot more than a few truck bombs to take a stable government down. Just looking at what is taking place in Afghanistan makes me wonder if the Arabs will ever get tired of having their noses rubbed in it. If their goal is to establish some mighty Muslim empire I would have to say that they are going about everything completely wrong. The United States is making an example of Afghanistan in order to terrorize both the Arab nations and the rest of the world from having even the remotest idea of crossing it. In retrospect it would have been wise if the Taliban had forked over Bin Laden regardless of the loss of prestige they would have suffered for handing over one of their own (actually, he is not even an Afghan) to the "infidels". The Taliban leadership obviously never thought that they would become the object of a bombing campaign of such intensity that it could be equated to the carpet bombing campaigns of WWII. The United States loves confrontations where cruise missiles, "daisy cutters" and bunker busters are the rule and the use of ground forces the exception. Average everyday sheeple love to comment on how the "cowardly" Taliban soldiers hide in caves and in Red Cross buildings. What are they supposed to do,? it' like trying to run the gauntlet of damnation alley. If 15,000lb bombs were dropped on American cities I wonder how the sheep would react. The Taliban are anything but cowards and if I were a General I would much rather have several divisions of Afghan troops protecting my flanks than 300,000 Italian troops whose cowardice cost Germany WWII (as Winston Churchill said about the Italians being Germany's ally in WWII-"its only fair, they were our ally in the First World War). If at all possible the Taliban should make an effort to attack the Italians - they will run and they are so bad that when they were doing peacekeeping in Somalia they even paid of the Somali militiamen to prevent themselves from being attacked by them!! Even the bravest and most dedicated soldiers and armies of history would not be able to hold their positions while being subjected to the kind of bombardment that the Taliban is being subjected to. There is no way in hell that the Taliban can take on the whole world (United States) and granted, the troops that the global community are sending probably don't amount to much, but it just makes it that much worse. Actually, if the Germans were smart they could really turn the pressure the United States is putting on them to contribute troops against us. All they have to do is say "hey, we feel so guilty about WWII that we don't want to further damage our already worthless reputation by sending our useless weekend warriors abroad, we just want to be good people now and concentrate on making more euros, drinking more beer and eating more Streudel". What is the United States going to do -"Come on Germany, you better get in there or else!!" I don't think so. The Arabs are not intelligent enough to challenge anyone except with nuisance stuff and they should instead be concentrating on the future of their people by raising the standard of living and educating their people to enable them to be of more use than being the cannon fodder that they are now. Stop wasting money on purchasing worthless old tanks and anti-aircraft weaponry -they don't help. They would be better off recruiting foreign mercenaries to pilot their aircraft rather than placing their own crash test dummies in the cockpit who are only capable of learning how to take off and land.
