Non-equality vs non-sameness and why I talked about it.

A way of illustrating non-equality versus non-sameness and corresponding different logics of meaning and action is to say, by way of example:

Non-equality -- nobody is an equal chess player.

Non-sameness and different logics of meaning an action -- Blacks and Jews are playing checkers while Whites are playing chess.

Not only did I want to point out that logics of meaning and action may be commensurate, but I also felt that it was an important point to make because it underscores that competition, in the case of incommensurability may be something to avoid altogether; more, as you and Cobb have pointed out, it could be somebody quite ordinary (or worse) who makes the difference, not necessarily the best chess player - so I wanted to give some encouragement to lend their agency with the notion that they may be of help, even if their skills are are of a different logic of meaning and action, so long as the end game is the same.

It doesn't really fly in the face of what you are saying, just adds a gear and tightens a bolt down in the ship's engine room.

There is one other errant statement in the tape/text that can lead to misapprehension - where I've said that after getting rid of Walesa, "intellectuals put 'LEFTIES' back in power". I wish that I has used another word as a pejorative there - but it was more or less an off hand statement, a habit of received ways of talking. Again, it does not change the context nor the thrust of the argument - in my opinion, its not worth redoing the tape, which basically defends use of leftist resource - and, a little ambiguity may be good to avoid misapprehension of lock step.
