JOOM'S MOVIE REVIEW

Ragnaroek

I like to go see a good movie now and then, though I only go when I think it's going to be something with some meat on its bones, not any of the thousands of politically correct pieces of crap Hollyweird has been pumping out the past forty years. The good ones are few and far between, and even many of the so-called "block busters" are nothing more than mindless drivel. Today I took a chance and saw "2012", the new scare movie about the coming doom that the Mayans, Hopis, I-Ching, Bot Net, the Bible, and a host of other ancient cultures have warned us about for the past thousand years.

In fact I knew about these prophesies.. and wrote warnings about them over twenty-five years ago to a select few readers that I knew were educated and intelligent enough to heed my warnings without scoffing at them out of hand. Well, as things sometimes happen, this prophesy quickly gained a life of its own over the past two years, and became something of an urban legend. And the movie makers jumped on it when they saw a potential buck to be made...

I knew there would be some good special effects, but I was blown out by what I saw. That takes some doing today.. not just for me, but for all Americans because we've become pretty jaded to the marvels of modern movie magic. What used to make us go "Oooh!" now makes us yawn. Not this movie. You'll sit up in your seat and go "Oh sheeeeiiitt!" I was flat out amazed at the scale and realism of the film. It made you feel as if you were right smack in the middle of the destruction of the planet. CRASH! BOOM! BLAMMO! Yep.. It's all there, and then some. Tidal waves, earthquakes, mass destruction, volcanoes, cities sliding off into the ocean, etc. Kazillions of people being tossed around like ants. It was great! HAWW! I REALLY enjoyed watching that shit hole LA go under, let me tell you! HAWW!

But there's a predictable dark side to the movie, as there is now with every last flick that comes out of the liberal capitol of the world: propaganda. A BUTTLOAD of it. Everywhere you turned they pumped the "joys of diversity" at you, along with pounding in the concept of a "global community". America had a BLACK president (Danny Glover) who acts the hero of course, a cast of many muds, and speeches about "all being one color now", etc. The survivors are from all over the globe of course, from every nation.. and color.

In a thousand years historians won't need to have time codes to know the era of the movies they find. All they'll have to do is go by content. All those that pumped politically correct bullshit will be from the U.S. in the last part of its life. Despite the propaganda, it was one hell of a fun ride, and I recommend it to anyone who likes a good thrill. And for you single guys, this is the one to take your date to. Guaranteed to make her squeal and hold you tight..lol. Too bad the real thing's coming...
